Along the Hudson: trip to Dia Beacon & Storm King Art Center

Day trip by train along the Hudson to Upstate New York. Visit Dia Beacon, a museum for the permanent collection of the Dia Foundation, with major works of contemporary art since the 1960s. The museum is housed in a former factory building, which is included in the National Register of Historic Places. The conversion was carried out by OpenOffice (Lyn Rice, Alan Koch, Galia Solomonoff, Linda Taalman) and the artist Robert Irwin. The collection contains, among others, works by Richard Serra, Donald Judd, Fred Sandback, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Sol LeWitt, Gerhard Richter and Dan Flavin. Afterwards visit the Storm King Art Center and Park with Maya Lin’s Wavefield and permanent installations and sculptures by Andy Goldsworthy, Isamu Noguchi, Kenneth Snelson and Alexander Calder among others. This tour is offered from early April until mid-November.
